This chamber is used to measure the corrosion resistance of the components. The component is introduced into the chamber and this creates a saline atmosphere inside. This atmosphere is very corrosive and starts to damage the material.

If the material has a proper surface treatment, it will pass the test and then it will be able to work correctly.

There are several types of standards depending on the corrosion degree to be analysed, the most common is the ASTM B117 standard.
