The viscous clutch is a fundamental element of the cooling system in commercial vehicles. This component often undergoes great workloads to face the demanding cooling requirements of this type of vehicles.

The bearing of a viscous clutch could be considered as its backbone, since it is in charge of bearing all the efforts generated as a consequence of the weight and thrust of the fan, at the same time, it enables the rotation between different elements.

However, mechanical efforts are not the only factors that have an influence on the bearing. In this type of products, operating temperatures are very high and can reach up to 200ºC. 

For that reason, in Cojali we ensure that our bearings can operate properly under high temperatures, and that they have specifications such as high-resistance seals, stabilised steel for bearings and high-temperature greases.

Besides, before introducing into the market a new clutch format, we carry out a comprehensive test of the bearing adjustment tolerances to ensure an optimal operation for any range of operating temperature.

All of this would be meaningless without a strict quality control. In Cojali, we pay special attention to the quality control of bearing housing tolerances, measuring the 100% of the dimensions regarding its adjustment.
